Do you snore?

My poor DH....apparently I have been snoring recently.  DH is a really light sleeper, (and I am a SUPER heavy, can't-wake-the-dead sleeper) and he said for the past couple of weeks he is constantly having to poke me or shake the bed for me to roll over and quiet down in the middle of the night. Normally I know that if I am really overtired I will likely snore that night from crashing out so hard, and I guess pregnancy is just exacerbating it?

Anyone else noticing this?  He said it is getting louder and is happening every night.  I feel so bad!  My sleeping positions are so limited right now...either my left side...or (surprise) my right side!  So there's not a lot of contorting I can do - I just flip back and forth.

Maybe I should invest in some of those nasal strips to see if they help?   Any suggestions?

Re: Do you snore?

  • I do but only if I am sleeping on my back.  I do what I can to not sleep on my back, but it can sometimes be done without me knowing it.  I've started putting pillows behind me when I lay on my side so I don't flip over to my back.  I feel bad I snore now, but I guess it's just part of the deal.  yay...

  • I don't, but DH and my Bulldog snore enough for all of us!
  • Apparently I'm with you.  DH said I very rarely snored at all before, but lately, have been sawing some wood.  :-(

  • My DH said that I have started with this preg. I didnt before. I dont keep him up but when I was congested the nasal strips, he said, helped with my snoring. I also sleep a little more elevated on the pillows...which helps me to breathe-I get a lot of pressure that makes me short of breath when I lay down.

  • I have never been a snorer. I asked DH if I have been, he said no snoring, but he has noticed at times I breathe louder when I sleep than I did pre-pregnancy. Interesting.

Bah hahaha! I was just going to say, if you ask me, I don't snore but that I sometimes can't distinguish whether DH or our Boxer is snoring louder. Apparently though, I do snore sometimes even while sleeping on my side. I don't feel bad in the least- like I said, those two are so. freaking. loud.

  • I didn't snore until I hit a certain, previously feared weight since being pg.

Cute!!!!!!!!!  My DH and I don't snore, but our Pittie Mix snores so loud we can hear him from his crate at night - which is in the kitchen!  hahaha

  • Thanks ladies - I think I'll try elevating a bit at night and see if that helps.  Usually, the cat is the one snoring in our bed, oddly enough.  Guess I'm carrying the torch for now!

  • I was just going to post about this!  I never snored before being pg, but now I wake myself up all the time (I'm the light sleeper).  It's maddening!

  • Yes ma'am!  I rarely snored before being pregnant but haven't been able to breath out of my nose since about 3 months in.  Sometimes I get one nostril free, but that's about it.  This results is horrible lumber-jack snoring!  My poor husband has actually left the bed to sleep on the couch a few times.  I only feel a little bad about this, as he snores pretty regularly so I sleep with ear plugs.

    Another of the pregnancy perks!
