TMI question (particularly for 2nd+ timers or moms with babes on the outside)

So I have heard that diarrhea can be a sign of labor begining in the near future- kinda your body's way of making way for LO. I have pretty much been constipated for the last 2 months and then yesterday I was diarrhea-y. Anyone experienced this shortly before labor? I didn't have this with my first so it just makes me curious. Thanks.

  • I had it two days before DD was born.  It is a good indicator....GL!

  • My post right below yours has something like that. I had to poop 3 times since I woke up about 31/2 hours ago. I guess it is wait and see for us huh?

  • Yes! It could mean something or nothing. When I had DD they asked me if my last bowel movement was loose and they told me that it was a sign. I also lost my MP shortly after.

  • I am pretty regular but I have been going at least 5 times a day all week.

  • Yah, I had it for several days before DD2 was born.  It was still a few days before she was born, though, so another one of those "could be, maybe not" indicators.  Frustrating, I know.

  • Sorry, but I wouldn't count on it.  I had one loose movement every single day for almost a week last week, and no baby for me.
  • Yep.  I woke up at 2:30 with diarrhea with my first, then went back to bed.  Woke up at 3:30 and was having contractions.
