Babies: 9 - 12 Months

July 8th birthdays

Well we have at least three on here!

Do you feel sad about your LO turning one? What are your plans today? What are your thoughts on the last year?

I don't feel sad. I am so glad he's a big boy now! I don't really get why people get melancholy but then again I am pregnant again so that is kind of shading how I feel, I think. This year has been the best year of my life but also the hardest year of my life. I had no idea parenting was this much work!

I got LO a sand/water table. I am sad the weather is lousy here! DH is coming home early and we will go out to the ice cream/hotdog/playground place in town. I have to make a cake today (fingers WAY crossed since the last cake at Easter was a total disaster) and I'll let him smash his piece and take pics. We will have a little party next weekend at my parents.

Happy B-day July 8thers! Last year this time was a terrible heat wave here in the northeast. Much nicer todday!

  • Happy Birthday to your DS!

DD is one today also and I am sad about it. We are taking her to the zoo today for the first time and tomorrow is her birthday party! We also bought her a water table for her birthday Smile

  • I do feel a little sad about him being one. I feel like I didn't enjoy him enough as a baby which of course is not true. It is harder on DH since he was gone more that half his life thus far due to deployments. Today we are planning on taking him somewhere to play and we have his birthday party tomorrow which I am hoping goes well & it is not too hot. We got him a PBK Anywhere chair I am hoping he will like.

  • I am a little sad about dd turning one but just a little. This is such a fun age that I'm enjoying it much more than the newborn phase. We are getting dd's picture taken and then doing lunch. I wanted to hit the pool as she loves swimming but the weather is bad so we will probably just hang out and get ready for her party tomorrow. Mcrib - I lived through that heat wave last year too! It was awful! The day I had dd was the busiest day the maternity ward had seen in years. The nurses all blamed the heat :)

  • I am most certainly NOT sad.  Sometimes I get nostalgic about him being tiny, but having a newborn blows and I definitely don't miss it.  I'll start getting sad when he's old enough to not want anything to do with me.
