CD Mama's - Taking Diaper off

So, this afternoon our Nanny was not so pleasantly suprised with a naked boy playing in his poop.  DH thinks this means he is ready to potty trained, I not so much.

So, what do we do to help keep the diaper on?

Re: CD Mama's - Taking Diaper off

  • Kate *freaks* out when her diaper comes off, which sadly is happening more and more as the velcro wears out.  We try to keep pants or shorts on her as it keeps the velcro from snagging on stuff, especially during nap time.  I know that some people convert to snaps which I might have considered if the shorts thing wasn't working out.

Incidentally, what is it with DHs and wanting to potty train?  I keep telling my DH to have at it some weekend when I'm out of the house.  I think he thinks that panties= potty trained.  Not so much...

  • You can try putting the diaper on backwards.  Or keep shorts/pants on over the diaper.  Or switch to a more removal-resistant type of closure.  (One of the reasons I'm currently swapping my stash from aplix to snaps.)

  • Was it during nap? I started putting DD in a onesie for her nap so she couldn't get her diaper off and usually tried to make sure she was wearing one with snaps, not aplix. Otherwise, during the day, we just make sure she has pants or shorts on.
  • Have you tried putting the diaper on backward for naps?  I've heard some moms doing that.  Or getting snap diapers for naptime.  I'm pretty sure we'll be having issues soon but Baby N hasn't figured out how to get her dipe off yet.

Yes, it was during nap.  I will tell her about the onesie idea!
