Lurker.... But need advice :-)

Hi Ladies! I have been quite the lurker from the very beginning and kind of wish I would of posted more during my pregnancy. I want to say congrats to all the mamas with babies and good luck to all the mamas to be!

I had my little girl Elianna Renee on 06/24/11 but I was due 07/28/11. She was born 5 weeks early but only spent 6 hours in NICU and never needed help with anything. She was very healthy for being that early and weighed in at 6 lbs 5 oz. 19 in long. She surprised everyone!

My question is... Last night at freaking 4 in the morning our fire alarm decided to go off and kept going off every 30 sec for like 10 min until DF had to turn the breaker off to keep it from going off. He has to come home and figure it out later once he is done with work but anywho I was holding Elianna the whole time and i tried to cover her little ears as much as I could but the fire alarm hurt my ears I can't imagine what it did to her little ears. Should I be worried? Can it affect her hearing? I really hope she is okay I've been trying to startle her with random noises but it isn't happening but she wasn't much of a startler to begin with. With two very noisy brothers she pretty much sleeps through anything. During the fire alarm though I could tell she was uncomfortable because she kept fussing through it all. What do you ladies think?

I hope I can get to know you all and hopefully I can post my full birth story and some pictures... if ya'll allow me to join! :-) Thanks in advance ladies!

  • Don't worry yet.  Especially if she wasn't one to startle before.  But I'd just mention it the next time you're at the pediatrician. It'll ease your mind.
