'going home outfit' (PIP) i need opinions...

1st question::: Is this too boyish? (we are team green)

2nd question::: do you think we should get the long sleeve or short sleeve? (We live in Florida, and baby is coming end of August/beginning of September... it'll still be in the 75-80 degree range at that time)

Short sleeve is fine, you'll have a blanket if its chilly, but it is quite boyish..... I would never suspect you had a girl in that outfit.  Sorry.  Maybe buy that one and another girlie one and return one after you determine the sex?

Dude, SO cute---and totally unisex!  Personally, I'm in to more genderless clothing selections.

This is totally cute.  Where did you get it?

I think short sleeved will work fine, don't want LO getting all sweaty. I do think it is totally boyish. Pina had a good idea, buy one of each and return or gift whichever you don't use.

I absolutely LOVE it! So adorable! But... it is rather boyish, IMO. I want it for myself, where is it from? I just love the bright colors.

As for long sleeve or short sleeve, I think I'd go with short. I figure LO will be in a temperature controlled environment except for the brief walks to and from the car and we'll have blankets if he's cold.

ETA: I'm picturing a green or blue flower purchased to pin on the hat if LO is a girl. :)

Im a HUGE green and Teal blue fan too, and would have totally bought that not knowing the sex, but now that I have a DD, and #2 is also a girl, I know I would be mighty pissed off if people started congratulating me on my son if I had a girl in that outfit leaving the hospital. Maybe you can clip a big hot pink flower to the hat if its a girl??

I could make you one. checkout my shop: www.carfitz.etsy.com

I also think the set is boyish. Short sleeve is fine.

I think it's a tad bit boyish, but at the same time, I think it would look absolutely adorable on a little girl. I'd also go long sleeve. Only because with that kind of weather, there will be A/C in the hospital and, presumably, your car and home. It could get pretty chilly for a newborn.

Short sleeve. We live in FL too and are having a short sleeve onesie with the little built in shorts. The outfit is cute, but I think it looks more boyish than girl. I would try to find something more yellow/purple/orange.

Ditto to everyone else.. it is boyish and short sleeve (were in fl as well).

I think its a really cute outfit, and with a flower on the hat I think it would be girly enough.

As for the short/long sleeved part, people tend to over bundle babies. You should dress your LO as you would dress yourself. You want to keep them warm, but not over heat them. Most babies run a bit hot to begin with. I'd say short sleeves and have a light blanket on hand.

Thank you all for your honesty!  ...I might get it as a potential going home outfit, and bring a less boyish outfit with me... even if it's a girl, I'd love to see her in this... but maybe not for the big 'going home day'.  Or do what some others said and get two outfits... but that might get pricy, considering I'll probably never get around to returning it.  I HATE doing online returns.

Oh, and by popular demand... this is where I found the outfit...KEE-KA ORGANICS

I think it's adorable-- I could see it being perceived as boyish but those things don't bother me. You could always switch up the hat too-- one that has a cute print for a girl? Also, check out Zutano, they have some adorable, organic clothes as well-- like this one (also check out their hats, you might find one to coordinate with the outift as well)image

I do think this outfit is boyish (but so so so super cute and I want to buy one for my little man) BUT I want to say that my prediction for you is boy. I know you didn't ask but I had to share! I love the idea of getting two.

Also, I love that you are team green but did not choose yellow to go home. I always think yellow is girlish.

Lupe - love the outfit, but it is more little boy.  Suggest purchasing some cute headband in that blue or green with a small bow or flower to match in case baby is a girl.  Super cute!!  Short sleeve too...it is Florida.

I say short sleeves will do.  I'm planning on short sleeves and rompers for the first few weeks and we live in PA, due 9/10/11.

I LOVE the colors, but I would say it's boyish.  If I had a girl, I'd totally dress her in blue over pink tho, as long as you don't mind ppl assuming she's a he :)  Adorable!!

Looks a little boyish, but so what? Random people make dumb mistakes even with the crazy headbands, etc and you will know.

RE: buying 2 things and returning 1--if you want to wash it before LO wears it, it might be more tricky to do that.

I would go short sleeve.  And yes, I think it is way too boyish.  I'd probably pick something a little more formal too.  If I was team green I'd do one boy outfit and one girl outfit instead of trying to do a gender neutral outfit.
