I am going to turn into a bowl of fruit. I have also been eating bran and activia. Aside from nasty and painful gas I am still not moving very often.
It's like the baby is hell bent on me not pooping. It's not like it's hard or anything when it does happen. It's just so infrequent that I rejoice when it does. Last night I was curled up as close to the fetal position as I could get in agony because I couldn't even pass gas. So please someone offer me another solution. I have spoken to one doctor and he suggested more fiber and more water. More water just isn't possible. I drink so freaking much of it.
Re: If I eat any more fruit. (TMI)
I'm starting to have the same issue. I'm planning on trying applesauce & maybe some of that Plum Smart drink (which really is just sweetened prune juice). It's actually pretty yummy.
The thing is, before I got pregnant I had IBS - so I hoped it would all balance out. and it did for quite a while. But now I'm in the nothing's moving camp. Boo.
I know this sounds absolutely disgusting (and it sort of is) but warm prune juice helps me when I need it. Maybe something with the warm liquid and the fact that it's nasty prune juice? Will the doc prescribe you colace or a gentle stool softener?
And on the fruit train--I cannot get enough of watermelon and cantaloupe. It is like a sickness.
Snuggle.

Oh man!
I know medications are not ideal, but have you tried some colace or miralax? Sometimes the fruit and water bullsh!t just doesnt cut it.
Also, sometimes at work when I get a LOL (little old lady hehe) that just can't go, I mix up a special cocktail of 1/2 part apple juice and 1/2 part warm prune juice. It is nasty I won't lie, but sometimes does the trick.
This! I have literally have been eating a full watermelon or two a week. It's ridiculous!!
