News: GL to all our ladies in the 2ww! Congratulations to njkaren on the birth of Wesley Matthew!
Updates: Last week, I had a VBAC appt with the OB and was considering which route to go - VBAC or RCS. ijack had her 34 week appt and though baby girl wasn't very cooperative, all is well! beyoga hit 25 weeks (Reid was born at 24) and is doing well. mrsmikey is getting anxious as she approaches the 32 week mark where her DS was born, but is otherwise doing well. njkaren's son Wesley Matthew arrived on 6/29 at 9lb 7oz and went home with his family 3 days later - congrats!
QOTD: Did anyone have a cerclage placed? If so, when was it removed?
If you'd like to address a question to the group, please feel free to page or PM me.
Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!
Congrats, njkaren!
Sorry I'm posting late today, ladies! I got bit by the nesting bug and DH had the day off, so we've been working hard on purging the house - starting with the laundry/storage room. Ick. Plus we've discovered a mouse moved in while we were vacationing over the long weekend, so we've been dealing with that.
Babywise, so far, so good! She's kicking right now and has been getting the hiccups a lot lately. I've got my next midwife appt on Friday and then I'm on the every-two-weeks schedule. We'll be talking NSTs/growth scans. DD1 is now officially in her big girl room, so I've been poking around in the nursery, too, getting that started. SO WEIRD to be in there and not have it be Ellie's room. Bittersweet.
QOTD: Sorry, no cerclage for me! I think I remember lemen saying she had hers removed around 34/36 weeks, though, you could try paging her!
Ladies, Ladies! I miss checking in with you and hearing your updates! I hope everyone is well.
As for us, we are doing very well and trying to settle into a routine at home. Having a "full term" baby is soooooo much different. It's also different just having 2 kids compared to 1. But, I'm loving our little family and I'm feeling very good about things in general. I plan to post something on my adventures the past few weeks, but I've got to try and find the time. One thing's for sure...I'm not as nervous a mother as I was with Parker. I used extra monitors and never let him out of my sight. Was that because he was a preemie, or because I was a first-time mom? I'll never know. But, I'm enjoying not being so overprotective right now.
Can't wait to hear from you all!!!! Bake those babies!!!!!!!
Congrats njkaren!
Hearing about take home babies after a preemie is so comforting to me. I'm getting more and more nervous about this baby coming early. I have no reason to believe she will, but I guess it's just that irrational side of things. I was fine up until about a week or so ago, and it will probably only get worse in the next few weeks. Fortunately, I think I'll feel a little better after about 34 weeks or so. It's just getting to the point where we're really starting to prepare for her, and that's freaking me out.
Other than driving myself crazy, things are going great! Still getting my weekly p17 shots, I only have 6 to go! I have a growth u/s next week, and I'm not sure what happens after that. I think I start going every 2 weeks, but otherwise don't know if I'll have any more u/s or cervical checks or NST's or what. Hopefully I'll feel a little better after seeing her next week.
Still working on a name, we've narrowed it down to 3 I think. And still working on the nursery. We did alot at first, and haven't done anything since. But DS is going to visit my mom in a couple of weeks and I think we're going to take that opportunity to get everything out of storage and washed up so we can see where we stand. Vacations are over so we have no excuses now!
Sounds like everyone is doing well! Nothing to report for me, just chugging along and definitely getting to the uncomfortable stage!!
No cerclage for me either - my cervix has actually grown this pregnancy
Need help with high fat food ideas? Chunky Monkey
lol tell me about it!!!! I just keep thinking that we're less than 4 weeks away from where I was when Ellie was born. ACK!!!!! I'm so not ready, but I'm hoping I will be in the next month!
Congrats njkaren! I'm also glad to hear you ladies are doing well.
I too miss checking in with you ladies. Now w/ having three boys at home seems like I hardly have time for things. We're dong great and ds#3 is chugging along. He was 16 lbs 11oz. at his last checkup in June!
Hope everyone continues to do so well.
Update: I am 26 weeks this week and FEEL pregnant. Violet is beating me up. LOL She seems to enjoy pummeling my right lower ribs. She is also kicking so hard you can watch my belly bounce.
QOTD: I had a cerclage at 20 weeks and my doc wants to remove it at 34 weeks. I think that's a little soon.
We have settled in at home. It is a completely different experience having a full term baby after a preemie.
QOTD: I didn't have a cerclage with this pregnancy but did with my last pregnancy after I lost Brandon's twin. I made it from 20 weeks to 26 weeks when they had to remove it because Brandon was in distress and had to be delivered.
Checking back in again. I had my first u/s on Thursday and all looks well with Little Bit. We measured right on track at 10 weeks and had a healthy heartbeat at 185 - Little Bit was being very active. Seeing those tiny little legs and arms going was amazing.
Met with the doc for the first time today, and I really like her. Expressed concerns about being monitored and how things would go throughout the pregnancy. She decided to have me do a 24 hour urine catch to evaluate my output and kidney function and run lab work. Should get results back sometime this week.
My next appointment is August 5th, and we should go back about two weeks after that for an attempt at gender identification
And now for a picture:
