Curious.. would you go to a concert in your 3rd tri?

DH and I have the opportunity to see U2 in Philly at the Lincoln Financial Center (a huge outdoor venue) this month. What do you guys think - is it ok to go to a concert like that or would it be too loud? We went to see Super 8 a few weeks ago and it was SO loud in the theater with all the special effects that I felt really bad for LO but I know she is well-protected in there and sound gets muffled. Any opinions?

  • With my DD I went to a concert at 33 weeks and had a great time. She passed her hearing test when she was born and at 4.5 I would say that she has selective hearing but that is a learned behavior.

Enjoy the concert we were supposed to go here in DC but plans changed.

  • I would go. Baby is hearing everything that doesn't originate from inside you through layers of fat, muscle, and water.

  • I'd be more concerned about the crowd than the noise, at concerts peoplelcan get really out of control I've never been to an U2 concert though  I would make sure you stay way away from the stage out of all the crowds.

  • I'd go. Just make sure you stay well hydrated and stay away from those smoking the wacky tabacky.

  • I'm going to Rascal Flatts this weekend atteh Susquehanna Bank Center.  I'm more worried about being tired, standing, etc than I am the baby.  She will be A-OK.  Her momma?  Remains to be seen.  :)
  • I would go. I'm also going to a concert in a month. Enjoy the freedom while you can!

  • I went to one this weekend and have another planned for later this month. The hardest part was sitting comfortably on the wood benches for several hours. :/  As far as the baby, I think he was just fine.

  • I wouldn't go but that's because I can't even get comfortable on my couch let alone in a stadium seat or on a lawn. If you do go, have a great time!
  • Heck yeah.  We're going to see Train (I love them) and Maroon 5 in September.  Go - just be mindful of the kind of show you are seeing and where a responsible place to sit is.  We sprang for VIP seats so I can be assured to be comfortable and be able to see without having to stand up.

  • I would go as long as I'd be safe in the crowd.
  • I'd go.  The Linc isn't like the Susquehanna Bank Center.  It's more controlled.
  • i would go. as long as your not really close to the stage you dont have to worry about loud noises or ppl bumping into you. we're going to see the black keys, O.A.R. and sick puppies tomorrow. :) as long as we're not right by the stage id go to a concert even a month from now.... as long as i could physically get there. lol ive never really been uncomfortable at any concert unless i was right by the stage. im sure U2 fans will respect the bump. :) have fun!

  • We are going to see Def Leppard in the middle of my 8th month. But I am not worried about it because I will be away from the stage and crazy people.

So I say go and enjoy it, as long as you are not by the stage or speakers.
