... finally decided to add my hair to the list.
Pregnant, hormonal me went to sally's beauty supply about 10 minutes before they closed the other night and 5 minutes later I had bleach on my head. Two bleachings and a bottle of manic panic later.... I'm very happy with the results. I feel vibrant and uplifted. Totally needed in these final days.
And on a happy note: PROUD OF MY LITTLE LUCY! We've made it to July. I had two bouts with PTL and two stays in the hospital all before 31 weeks. We had a goal date of 34 and my dr. was positive we wouldn't make it to July. Well 6 weeks of bedrest (and finally being free for the past week) we've made it to July. I can't believe it's finally here.

Aww, manic panic brings back the memories I had hot pink hair for several years... Can't do it now b/c of where I work. I don't even bother with dye anymore b/c I'm too lazy to keep it up.
Congrats on making it to July, I did not think I would be here either.
I love the hair, I was solid purple for a few years then wen't back to brown when I started teaching college. Then last fall I decided to do some burgundy chunks my students liked it, but I do teach art so...
Anyway, I thought we were supposed to avoid bleach kits while pregnant?

I'm a hair stylist and worked this entire pregnancy (up until bedrest of course). I've been a stylist for years and have had many a co worker have a baby. None of them came out with extra limbs. lol. If working with the chemicals day in and day out doesn't cause any issues there is no issue using them on myself.
Really the only risk you run with any hair chemical during pregnancy is the increased risk of allergic reaction due to the hormonal changes in your body. When in doubt stay away from them, but I knew I would personally be fine.

Thanks! Good to know. I thought that the dyes today were fine but to avoid the bleaches.

Bleach is definitely harsher than dyes. A lot of people will have bad reactions to bleach when they don't with other hair processes. Again when in doubt stay away from them. Pregnancy is miserable enough already, the last thing you need is a cracking, oozing scalp from a chemical burn. Ick!

LOVE manic panic! And the look on you! Hot Topic used to sell dye called Raw and it was always my fave. It was thicker and my hair was shorter at the time, so I literally just rubbed it in like shampoo and it held so well!
