Equivocal ultrasound and PGAL brain

I just had my first doctor's appointment. It was origianlly scheduled to "confirm pregnancy" but that didn't happen today! I'm 5 weeks 5 days by LMP (I don't chart) and they should have seen at least a sac. There was no sac, but there was a "shadow" that could be the start of a sack or just a shadow, a thickened endometrial lining, and a corpus luteum cyst. These are all encouraging things, I suppose, but it's really hard not to let my PGAL brain take over! My doctor took my beta level and said we'll watch and see what happens.

Part of me wants to freak out, and part of me wants to say calm. If only I could have the glass of wine that would make me feel better!

    If you don't chart, its really hard to know exactly when you O'd.  It sounds like a lot of things are pointing in a good direction, but that maybe you might have O'd later than you thought.  Its great that your doc did betas.  Keeping an eye on those and a follow-up u/s to make sure things are progressing would be great ways to know for sure.

    I have to agree with Junebug; if you don't chart you could have O'd later than expected.  It's great that your Dr is taking betas.  Keep in mind that the number doesn't matter as much as the increase does.  Sending lots of T&Ps for great betas.
