update on yesterday's BSC post

Thank you again, all of you, for the kind words yesterday - it was so nice to know I wasn't alone! Last night was a million times better - I slept for a few hrs while MH had duty, then I took over around midnight. Was able to get him back to sleep relatively quickly after that feeding. He woke back up at 230 - we went downstairs to watch some SATC while I (bottle) fed him, bounced on the exercise ball to get him asleep, then held him for 20 min and put him on his back without issues around 4. I pumped and went to bed about 430. He woke back up around 445 b/c he'd peed/spit up a little...and then he was hungry again:/ fed him again and my mom came down around 6 and I slept until 9. I even showered/brushed my teeth before noon, so it's been a good day - ha! And I just received the nipple shield, so so so much better! Pumping in the middle of the night sucks donkey balls. So again, many thanks, it's very much appreciated!

I'm so glad to hear you had a better night!  Hang in there, friend.  I know everyone says this, but things get better.  I'm glad your DH is there to help out.  It's amazing how a little sleep can really improve your outlook. :)

  • Yay!  I'm so glad to hear things are getting better.  And I know what you mean about hearing that you're not alone.  That helped me tremendously too.

  • One more thing- do you have a recliner available? Another option is to just let your little guy sleep on you after you're done nursing (IF you can get sleep that way).

Not yet, but we're buying one as soon as we move back into our house. I'd buy it now but I'd rather have it delivered to our house instead of trying to figure out how to get it from my parents to our place in a few weeks.

  • yay hopefully you have many more nights like last night that only get better!
  • I am glad you were able to get some more sleep and that you're feeling better today.  You are not BSC - post-partum hormones and the stress of having a new LO can be overwhelming!  Feel free to vent anytime!  The ladies on this board talked me off a ledge more than once during those first few months.  :)
