Success after IF

***naflmj***

I'm sorry, I just saw your post.  I used to be a frequent poster on TTTC and here a couple years back, but can't get on quite as much now that I'm a SAHM.

I did not see any specialists for my MTHFR.  I got pregnant right away as I mentioned and my OB took over my care after a couple early u/s with my RE.  I called my RE when I got pregnant, even though it was naturally, because they found out about the MTHFR and I was in their care during my miscarriage.  I was obviously extra nervous.  I got 2 early ultrasounds there and another when I was released to my OB.  Both my RE and OB agreed on the baby aspirin, Folgard and rX prenatal as a team and I started it right away.

I've been with my OB since I was in college and he knew our TTTC over the years.  He gave me extra ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy for my piece of mind and stress level mostly.  But because MTHFR causes the blood to not flow well to the uterus he always wanted to make sure DS's growth was where it was supposed to be.  It always was.  As you said, I didn't mind one bit! :)

Sorry for the long response.  Let me know if you have any other questions!

Thanks so much! Do you know if you have 1 or 2 mutations? I don't but it's on my list of questions to ask as I have seen it can impact the treatment.

By the way, your son is adorable!

  • I know I have 2 copies, but I can't remember which ones.  It's on the less serious side.  Like I didn't have to take Lupron or anything when I was pregnant.  And next time now we'll know to start the baby aspirin when we TTC again and *fingers crossed* it'll come much, much easier next time.  That is my hope for you too.

Having an issue is hard to take, but at least you can prepare and hopefully not run into the same problem the next time.  I wish you all the luck in the world!

And thanks about my son, I'd have to agree! :)  And yours is adorable as well...I'm lovin' that hat!
