Sorry, I couldn't help myself with the post title but did restrain myself from posting on 9-12. We were all swimming this morning and I got stung by a bee. Why a bee decided to come sting me in the middle of the f-ing pool I don't know. Anyway, DH asks me what is wrong as I am trying not to freak/drop Lila/drown the thing and I made a comment about being attacked by Africanized killer bees. Obviously I was being dramatic but at least I wasnt screaming and having a fit. There was one other couple at the pool that morning and the guy must have heard me because he flipped me off (he's black). So then we get back upstairs and I am googling Africanized killer bees to see if maybe they don't really exist (they do) or I said something wrong. Did I say something wrong? Did maybe he not really hear or misunderstand me? Was he exercising his middle finger? DH keeps telling me not to worry about it as we will likely never see them again but obviously I am thinking about it.
Re: Is this racist?
I don't think it is racist.
Maybe he doesn't know about that type of bees?

I think this. I don't think it's racist.
it doesn't sound racist at all (this coming from a black woman) and my dh agrees that it wasn't either.
However I am assuming he thought you said something else and became offended. People tend to hear what they want.

Living After Losing
If you're going to talk about those things you need to put it in the title!
I am so scared of them. I want to rock in a corner clutching a can of raid.
This is also why I will never live down south, and if they start moving north I'm moving to Greenland.
