Anti tutu girls

What do you think about tutus for dress up?  I made several to give as gifts for Christmas and birthdays.  I never thought about people not liking them.  I also made several for Allie's dress up box.  She has never worn it out of the house, unless we weren't getting out of the car. We have never done pictures either.

I am kind of in the middle on tutu's.  My friend makes them and I think they are adorable to wear for photos on infants or dress up.  Not something I would put her in on a daily basis.  But some of the ones my friend makes are just so darn adorable.

I don't care about that so much.  It's the huge tutu + huge headband baby pictures that I think are insanely overdone.

Me too.  Adelyn wore a black and hot pink tutu for her birthday party...no headband, just black feathers on each pig tail

I am not anti tutu persay although Lila does have two she has never worn. I see no problem with dress up tutus and I suspect at some point both my kids will want to dress up in clothes I think are silly so I might as well get over that now.

I love tu-tus. I saw a girl about 7yo  wearing a tu-tu skirt at dinner the other night. She wore it with tights (the kind that are pants). It was such an adorable outfit!

I think they are cute. I wouldn't put them in them to wear everyday but in the infant/toddler stage I think it's adorable. I also like flowers and hair bows. Not the huge, giant ones that are distracting but I am still pro-headband. My UO is it irritates me when people are so anti-bow/tutu, etc. If it's not you're thing, that's fine but I don't think it's right to put it down when other people do.

Oh you'll change your mind if she's into them.  I feel like all Riley wears now is pink, purple, dresses, princesses (OMG the princesses!), and dress-up clothes (to include tutus).  Her wardrobe is very different now that she can pick her own clothes out, than it was 2 years ago.  LOL

Aww Evelyn! That's beautiful! Thank you for seeing my point. I think it's fine that you don't like them and I do. I just feel like it's easy to put something down when you don't like it even if you know others do. (I'm not speaking about you or anyone in particular, just seeing the consensus.)

And yeah it's not like I do'nt think they're cute. I mean, I get they are. And little girls look awfully pretty in them. I wouldn't select it to put on my kid. But when she can pick, she can go ahead and pick and I won't stop her or let her know what I think. But while it's my choice, we'll avoid it. I also was very anti-pink and have already found it permeating her wardrobe...so it is what it is lol!

There are a ton of things I swore I wouldn't let my kid wear that are now a fashion statement in the world of a 3 yo.  Jelly shoes/sandals were a big no from me.  Allie picked out a pair the other day.  Yeah, I can't get her out of them.  Character clothing is about once a week thing.  I could say no, but is it worth the battle? Nope.

For what it's worth- I think that's great! I'm a pink kinda girl. If Scarlett tells me she hates pink, it'll be gone. If Lyla loves it, she can wear it til her heart is content.

I really LOVE tutus:) I do hate those big headbands though.
