Pinterest question - I apologize in advance

It's probably been asked before.  How do you pin something that you've found in internet land?  I see how you add the url, but sometimes the picture of what I'm pinning doesn't show up.  Is that a no-no in pinterest world?  For example, I found something cute on a blog.  when I pin it, all that comes up is the blog banner.  If I click on it, it goes to the right page.  Is that the right way to do it?

whenever I do that...it gives me every picture from that page to choose from.
