oh, and the episode I'm watching now, the family is doting on the boy (who is also in pageants) and is putting down their daughter every single chance they get. It's breaking my heart, and I'm really hoping they just did that for the show.
That show is ridiculous. I watched it a couple times because I was too lazy to change the channel after My Strange Addiction. I can't even imagine the attitudes on some of these little ones. And what happens when they don't want to do it? The moms try to get pregnant again?

how about making your daughter feel inferior to her little brother...its just sad. i cheered (quietly, because DD is asleep) when she wont a higher title. this show makes me sick - but i was happy for her because she seemed like such a sweet girl
Although I HATE the physical things these people do to their kids, it is 100% the emotional abuse that sickens me. Way to eff up your kid. They make me sick.

I've seen this a few times too, although not recently. I can't believe the crazy stuff these people do to win. Spray tan, fake nails, fake teeth, fake eyelashes, hair extensions, loads of makeup... this does not seem like a good way to help your daughter gain self confidense. Just shows her that she's not pretty enough the way she is and only pretty when she is fake. To each their own I guess, but c'mon!

That lady that made the news for giving her daughter botox is obviously the extreme (though she claims that lots of other moms do it), but I was heartbroken when the daughter said she needed it because she didn't like the lines in her face. She was like 8 (I think?) and talking about her smile lines! Agh. I mean aside from the fact that she's injecting her small child with chemicals, the emotional damage she's doing by convincing her daughter that she needs it is just unbelievable.

I never watch it, but I caught it tonight - I loved it when the little girl told her mom that she was one of the crazy moms when she kept trying to make her hair bigger - wise beyond her years! I wonder of they even have these pageant things here in NY...growing up I didn't know anyone who did them.
Okay, this post is actually really hurting my feelings. I don't talk about it here, but DD does pageants and the reality is that you NEED to do some of that stuff (tanning, hair color, etc.) to be competitive. She's won the grand supreme title two times and we put a TON of time and money into it and I don't like to see that mocked.

You seriously had me scared for a moment! What about this show makes it impossible to turn off?

Lol...how else is she going to get into Princeton?
I tell DH that I watch this show for advice on how to be a good parent...by taking mental notes about what NOT to do from the parents on the show Every time DH sees me watching it, I make sure to promise him that I won't put our daughter (if we have one) in pageants.

I thought it made sense, explains all the awesome DDs to wear with pageant dresses!
Re: NCDR - Toddlers and Tiaras
Gah, I'm watching too. I can't believe the ordeal for the son's haircut. Let alone the pressure to dye the daughter's eyelashes.
I can't stop watching/cringing.

Bwahahahahahaha. Just kidding. Those ladies are insane. And that one pageant dad is nuts too. Poor kids.
Can you tell I watch the show?

You can dye eyelashes?
I mean, I know you can tint them, but it's not recommended. And that is for grown women who can tolerate laying still with their eyes closed.
That show is stupid and those mothers always disgust me.
