Cloth Diapering

g diapers?

I am really considering using the g diapers. Has anyone had any experience using them? Does anyone know any pros and cons? This is my first baby and thought I would give cloth diapering a chance. I like the g diapers as you can use the cloth inserts as well as disposable inserts so I guess they are the hybrid types.

Thanks in advance!

Re: g diapers?

  • We didn't like them for our LO. They just didn't fit him well which resulted in leaks. However, there's a mom in my playgroup who swears by them. It just depends on your baby. Also, the disposable inserts are ridiculously expensive, you're better off just using regular disposable diapers cost-wise. I think the consensus on this board is that there are better hybrid systems out there. Check out GroVia or Flip.

  • I used gDiapers size small until they didn't fit ds anymore. I personally really liked them, but never used the disposable option. I used the gCloth, but those things leaked like crazy until he gained a few pounds. What I used instead were GErber prefolds folded into thirds and stuffed in the liner. This worked perfectly and I never had a leak after that. In my opinion they made sense for younger babies because you have to change them so often. It didn't suck either that they were so trim people thought ds was in a disposable, and they are adorable on. I included a pic of my little one wearing this super-cute diaper.
