Extending Baby's Feeding Times. How???

My daughter is 10 weeks old and has been demanding 3 ounces of formula every 2 hours. I have attempted to distract her to extend the feedings various ways (swing, walking around the house, playing, rocking, etc) but she begins to wail like she's never been fed before. I've tried to give her 4 ounces with hopes that she'd take 3 hours to eat again, but nope, at an hour and a half, the crying begins and by 2 hours, she MUST be fed. Any suggestions on how to stop this?? She's too young for rice cereal or solid foods. Help!

  • I'm not sure that seems unreasonable.  Granted, it's now been a while, but that seems like it would still be feed on demand age.  What does your pedi say?  It is too young for cereal and most pedis will say that is a myth.

  • I just got my baby to eat every 4 hours and he is almost 4 months. We started rice when he was 3 1/2 months but that is usually to young.I just went with whatever he wanted she will let you know.
