Who is still watching? The defense is supposed to wrap it up today or tomorrow. Today should be interesting. I don't think the state has proven murder1 for the death penalty but the defense has done a horrible job imo. I think all they proved is that the Anthony family definitely knows what happened and are trying to cover it up by throwing suspicion at each other. I don't know that they can prove Murder 1, but I think they are all culpable in her death and the disposal of her body, through direct action or lying about what they know. 

As far as the assertion that the death was accidental, I wonder what they were trying to cover up by not reporting it, calling 911 when it happened? That makes me even more suspicious of the family.

I never watch that kind of television but I'll be sad if she doesn't get the death penalty. The whole thing is just sad.

See idk if I believe that the entire family is in on it as far as what happened to Caylee. I believe that they believed their daughter Casey and tried to help/protect her because they didn't want to believe their daughter had anything to do with it. Casey told lie after lie after lie and I think her parents naively bought into it 100%. I do believe this family is dysfunctional.

I think her defense is utterly ridiculous. They say what happened was that Caylee drowned when she was with Casey and George helped her hide Caylee. Basically telling the whole world "remember all those things I told you about leaving Caylee with the nanny and not being able to find her? Yeah, that was I lie. She drowned in the family pool and I just strung everyone along. I knew the whole time she was dead."

I think she does deserve the death penalty.  I think she is a straight up sociopath but there is just so little hard evidence that Casey actually did it. Basically it's the smell in her trunk and all her lies. Oh and you know partying it up with friends when your daughter is dead.

See, that's what I don't get. If she drowned, by accident, then why would they hide her? Possibly because she was being neglected and THAT"s why she drowned and they didn't want anyone to know that they didn't find her for hours? Still, I think a sane person would have called 911 and taken their chances that there wouldn't be an autopsy to see how long she was down there, rather than concocting this whole missing person's story. By hiding her, they elevated the charges from possible neglect with injury to a child to murder, in my mind. Its all just craziness!

I've been loosely following it.  DH thinks she shouldn't get the death penalty at all.  He thinks that it sounds more like an accident gone horribly wrong.

Me on the other hand, even if she didn't plan the murder, thinks there is something really wrong with her if she went through all of this hiding the body stuff.  If it was an accident she must me the dumbest person alive.  Can we give people death for being stupid lying b!tches?

I agree, her defense and lawyers are just doing a really bad job.

This is getting very interesting today. George Anthony broke down on the stand and Casey Anthony sat their emotionless. Even I, who don't know these people was choked up at his emotions.

 

ETA: Now she is shaking her head with a look that she knows this could get very bad for her. Part of the defense is that her dad helped her hide the body. Well apparently her dad attempted suicide and left a note. In that note it seems like he acknowledges he bought a gun to threaten whomever may have killed Caylee to admit that they did it and then kill himself.  This would prove that he did NOT know what happened to Caylee and therefore completely against the defense's case.

I've been listening every day and it just gets crazier and crazier.  You could not make this stuff up.  I think that both sides have proven that the entire family is ridiculously disfunctional but I don't think they had anything to do with it.  I think she knew exactly what she was doing when she did it but she won't get the death penalty.  I honestly think it will be a mistrial/hung jury or she will get off.  I think that her plan all along was to kill her parents before they noticed Caley missing (hence why she told her best friend she was getting the house to the point of actually renting the moving truck).  Casey is crazy and I would not be surprised if she kills her parents/brother if she gets off.  No matter what happens I think that the tragic thing here is that a beautiful baby is dead and someone killed her and this trial has turned what was her short life into a circus.
