Just got my Alvababy pocket's that I ordered! They look fabulous. We had been using fitted's that we got used, so they had already done all the pretreating before we bought them. What exactly do I need to do before they are ready to be used? TIA.
If it is stuffed with a microfiber you just need to wash once. If it is a natural fiber (such as bamboo) you can wash the pockets once and the bamboo several times.
Prior poster summed it up pretty well, but essentially all you need to know is that synthetic fibers don't require any prep (aside from a washing to cleanse any manufacturing remains) and natural fibers generally need some help to become absorbent.
What I did was I just washed them (make sure the inserts are out of the pocket) with Tide Free and Clear and ran them through one additional rinse cycle and dried on a low heat setting. I find that I have to double the inserts during naps and while he is in his jumperoo but once I started to do that we have had zero leaks!
Re: Pocket Diaper Care
I use Alva Baby too and I love them.
