Anyone still spotting?

I have had spotting on and off since week 4 and just wondering if anyone else is dealing with this. I have now moved into the once-a-month ultrasound club and am not sure how I feel about it. I am excited to see the little one (and hopefully get verification that she is a girl, since they were only 85% certain last time) but also really afraid they will find something wrong.

The thing that is most disconcerting about it is that the doctors never seem to know what could be causing it. At one ultrasound, they found a very small bleed, but the rest of the ultrasounds they did not see any evidence of it.

Really, I am just complaining because I am sick of worrying about this (and sick of pelvic rest and fearing that they are going to put me on bed rest!)

Re: Anyone still spotting?

  • The doctor checked my cervix at 20 weeks and it was completely closed and did not seem unusually sensitive. So now it is just getting ultrasounds regularly.

I am sorry you are going through this too! At one point I had done a google search on it and found stories of women who had spotting all along, unexplained, and still gave birth on time to a healthy baby. When I get worried, I try to think of that!

  • Mine stopped at about 17 weeks, and hasn't started up again...glad you're getting ultrasounds regularly and they are keeping a close eye on it anyways..
  • I spotted daily until the day before my 20 week ultrasound!! The doctor found a polyp on my cervix that was causing the bleeding...it comes and goes now, but is much, much lighter. Glad the doc is monitoring it, and you get a monthly glimpse of your baby :)
