booster question.....ghm???

Ok...so Mitch is 4 now and is good in the car sitting, so I told him we could try a booster....we had an extra one from when we had a nanny and needed carseats from her car.  So I threw that in the car and Mitch is too tall I think for the back part..his shoulders are above the slot where the seatbelt comes through...that's not good, right???

Soooo--are their any brands that that is higher??  Or should I just go to backless??  Or back to the carseat until he is 5 and then go backless??

No backless! It's preferable that they stay in a high back with side impact protection as long as possible--6.5 or 7 is best. Of course, there's no difference between backless and a high back without side impact protection...

That's definitely not good that his shoulder is above the belt guide. It's the same as a forward facing harness seat, the shoulder must be at or below. What seat is it? That sounds really short (of course there are some out there like that).

Let me know your budget and I'll let you know what a taller seat is. There are definitely seats that should last him until 6 or so unless he's freakishly tall (I doubt he is!).

ok...recommend the boosters....this was a leftover seat, like I said, so really  $ doesn't matter too much....I guess probably not over $150ish??  I'm not sure....

The turbo is quite a bit shorter than the monterey, but still works for most kids until 6 or 7.

Sunshine kids monterey $112. This is my favorite seat, esp. for boys.

I know for sure that Tay's seet is the turbo booster...maybe I'll try it to see how he fits (although its pinkish and girly....so I'd still have to buy him one.)

But the sunshine one looks good...might be worth it just to go for it....
