Hi!
I just moved to Austin a month ago and a few days later found out I was pregnant. I got a recommendation for Dr. Kimberley Carter and scheduled an appointment for June 24th. I asked where she delivers at and they said St. David's. Not knowing the area well I assumed it was the one off of Mopac close to my house. I just found out she delivers at St. David's South. I really was looking forward to North for their Women's Center.
I am nine weeks so I need to keep my appointment, but is it worth switching Dr.'s for the hospital?
Thanks!

We live at 183 and Duval and I delivered at North Austin Medical Center with the team from ObGyn North and loved them. They are made up of doctors and midwives and are FABULOUS!!

Just found out the Dr. delivers at St. David's dowtown, not the south one. I just scheduled another Dr. who delivers at St. David's North for Monday. Am I crazy to go to both Dr.'s and see who I prefer?
So confused b/c I was with the same Dr. in Arizona for 13 years!
Not weird at all! You are going to be seeing this doctor a bunch over the next months, so you need be happy and comfortable with him/her

I agree with pp's about switching. When it comes to downtown vs. north, I'd say go with whichever doctor you like more, but it sure would be nice if you liked the doctor that delivered so close to your house and at such a nice facility!
About seeing both doctors ... if you're paying out of pocket and having a full exam twice, that could be expensive. If you're using insurance, they may not pay for you to have essentially the same appointment twice. I'm sure one or both doctors would be glad to meet you outside of a regular exam. I'd call the doctor's office to make sure they were aware this was a "meeting" of the doctor. Those are pretty routine, and they'll make sure you're in the right type of time slot, etc.
Good luck and congratulations!
