Anyone using an older breast pump?

I'm not sure if I should register for a new breast pump or just use the one I've been given from 2005/2006 model of the Medela. I was wondering if anyone can give me tips on if there is a huge difference from using an older model compared to the new ones because the new ones are so expensive. Thanks!

Not me, but if you have one, go for it! Replace the tubes, etc. and go for it.

I am using one from around that same time, too! I am just going to buy all replacement tubes & cups/etc. A new pump is just so blasted expensive...and who knows how long I will stick with it, you know?

Aside from lifespan on the motor I don't see why it would be an issue.

This is probably one of those controversial things, but from what I've heard you should never use a used breast pump, especially an "open system" kind like medela.

I plan on using my older one from *cough* 2004.  I am just going to buy new hoses and cups.  Hopefully it still works, I haven't pulled it out of the closet for about 7 years now...gulp.  Maybe I should get on that.

I will be using the pump that i used with DD #1 I will be replacing all extra stuff cause i wouldnt feel right using the same stuff from 3 or 4 years ago.
