S/O CPW: early/late/ontime?

I'm so anxious to meet her, but honestly I the whole only-35-days-left thing freaks me out a little.  I guess it's good that it's not up to me.

So... if it were up to you, would LO arrive early, late, or on-time?  Assume that Baby and you would be perfectly healthy regardless of your choice.

[Poll]
DD Born July 2011
TTC#2 for 4 years: multiple rounds of IVF, M/Cs, lots of tears.  Cautiously optimistic about #2 EDD 12/29/18

In my 'perfect world' where LO arrives healthy, I'd want him/her to come 6 days early- on my first day out of the office, so that all of my maternity leave can be spent with Baby.

There's stuff to get done while I'm home waiting for that one week, but nothing that's so important it has to happen before baby.

  • Gosh I feel like my 35/35 was just yesterday! I chose early. I wish there was an option in your poll for whenever I feel ready. I feel ready right now and my body is getting unbearably tired of this baby so I would like him to come now rather than later.

  • IF baby is born healthy regardless I'd totally want him early.

I want to be able to enjoy the heat without feeling like a sweating pig, I don't want my feet/ankles to hurt anymore and when I sleep (what little it may be with a newborn) I want to be comfortable!

  • I'm ready now. So anytime between 38 and 40 weeks is good for me. But I would be happy with sooner than later. :)

It is busy during July so I clicked on my due date... If I go early that will mean more work for one of my coworkers who is already overloaded and handling two portfolios.
  • If I had a choice and baby would be healthy, I vote earlier. Right now it is summer break (I work in education) so I am literally sitting at home bored to death. If she came earlier that means more time that I would get to spend with her Big Smile

My reasons are kinda silly, but here goes!

My EDD is 7/3, but we started a tradition of going to my in-laws for a big July 4th parade every year, and I don't want that to interfere with birthday parties in the future. SIL's bday is 6/23 (tomorrow), and I'm adamently avoiding that day like the plague because I know she would never shut up about it. DH's birthday is 6/26 (Sun) and although I don't have an issue with them sharing a bday, it would be nice if she had her own day. So, early next week would be ideal for me Stick out tongue

  • She is more than welcome to arrive once I finish the nursery!  The dresser is on back order, so I haven't washed any of her clothes yet.  We keep geting different answers from the store on when it will arrive...UGH!

Ideally, 38 weeks would be good for me.  I am starting to feel really pregnant the last few days and the 110+ degree weather here in Phoenix is not helping!!

ALL my nursery furniture is on back order, set to arrive mid-July.  Too bad I'm due the 1st...  LO has a cradle set up in our bedroom, and clothes stacked in the closet.  I haven't even bought a mattress or any bedding yet, becuase I want to measure the crib!  I tell myself it'll be fine though, you don't want much bedding in there anyhow.

  • I voted on EDD.

I get one week off before my EDD that doesn't eat into my maternity leave and I kind of want to just lounge around then.

Also, I kind of want my baby to be a bit chunky.  I like fat babies - though DH says he is going to remind of that when I pushing during labor!

  • I voted early. Mainly because DS's bday and LO's DD are a day apart and I would like them to have SOME time between them. Also, because the thought of 4 more weeks of dealing with this ankle pain that has got me to where I can't walk much stinks. As long as LO is healthy when he arrives, I will take him as soon as Sunday (when I am officially full-term :))

Similar deal here - there's a ton going on at work right now so I'd rather at least make it until my "advertised" first day of maternity leave, and then have a few days to spend at home with DS before DD arrives - I just don't want to go so late that they have to induce me.  I had pitocin with DS (my labor started with water breaking so they had to get things moving) and would love to have labor progress more gradually this time!

  • I wouldn't complain about anytime starting at week 38.  We have a big event this weekend, that I'm doing a lot of the organizing for. I have back ups - but it's been almost a year in the making and I'd like to be there! My OB and Doula are also out of town this weekend.  After Tuesday, life will calm down a lot and everyone will be in town!
