Continued T&P to beyoga on the cerclage/bedrest keeping the baby cooking! Congrats to beachykeen1723 on finding out it's a girl!Updates: Last week, I was waiting to take my glucose test. njkaren's OB didn't think she'd make it to her scheduled C-section date. mrsmikey was feeling lots of baby activity, and anticipating an OB appt for glucose and thyroid testing. beyoga started leaking fluid and having uterine spasms - the docs think she has an incompetent cervix and that the spasms are related to that. ijack is 32 weeks now and was waiting for her next appt. beachykeen1723 was given a 12-15% chance of having pre-e/HELLP again and found out baby is a girl!QOTD: Any good 4th of July plans? If you'd like to address a question to the group, please feel free to page or PM me.

Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!

  • I had an AWESOME appointment last week. Discussed VBAC with the midwife, she got me to look at it in a whole new way - basically, I can either have a C-section sometime between 9/8 and 9/15 (with 9/15 as the deadline, then we have to do it), or I can just wait and see how the pregnancy goes and make the decision when I go into labor. Since the midwife doesn't think I'll get to 9/15 (or even 9/8), it most likely will be a decision to be made when I go into labor, anyway. So right now I'm not planning to schedule anything. I am getting more and more scared of vaginal birth, though! My C-section recovery was great and I know that's no guarantee that it'd be good again, but I've heard so many vaginal birth horror stories, I'm freaking out a little.

I also found out I passed my glucose test! I was pretty worried because in my last pregnancy, I failed the 2nd hour of the 3hr test, but this time the midwife only does 2hr tests and if you fail either draw, you fail the whole thing. So I'm really glad I passed! I do, however, have a UTI, but they gave me some antibiotics that should clear it up. Next up is my VBAC appt with the consulting OB on the 28th, and I'm officially on every other week appts! Getting so close, I'm all scheduled out through 37 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

QOTD: We are going to visit my grandparents in Myrtle Beach! We try and go about once a year, it's always great to see them, they're still super active and a lot of fun and they just adore our daughter. I was surprised, though, when I asked the midwife to confirm that I'd be OK to travel, she hesitated a bit. She was fine with it once she knew we'd be taking a main highway down and staying in a populated area, but she said "no going to the mountains of West Virginia" ;-) This will be our last trip as a family of three!

  • My c section is a week from today. Can't believe I will be meeting this little guy. Now if we could just come up with a name....

I will be coming home from the hospital the day before July 4th so no plans this year except taking care of a new baby.

Conceived twins with IVF January 2008. Lost baby a at 20 1/2 weeks due to premature rupture of membranes and held onto baby b. Baby b (Brandon) born at 26 weeks and 1 day on July 5, 2008. • Had my appt yesterday.  Got my GD test and my thyroid test, fingers crossed they both come back ok.  Everything looks really good, and the OB was able to tell me exactly how the baby was laying and where all her parts were.  That was really cool.

I go back in 3 weeks for an u/s and check up.  I'm not really sure why 3 weeks, instead of 2 or 4.  I think I may have gotten off schedule at some point and maybe he's just trying to get me back on track.  But excited to see the baby again!  I'll be 30/31 weeks then, so I think I go to appts every 2 weeks after that.

QOTD:  We're going to the beach over the 4th.  I'm bummed that it will be our last trip this year.  Usually we go once a month through the entire summer.  But I guess that will just have to be ok :)  DS is super excited, we had such a great trip over Memorial Day we've all been aching to go back.

My OB said after that trip, no more trips out of town other than family members houses.

    33w!!

My appt last week went really well. Baby girl was estimated to weight 4lbs 4oz, which is 1.5lbs more than E weighed at birth!! Cervix was still long and closed and everything is "normal." Over the weekend I started cramping and finally called yesterday and went in to see my doc. Everything is fine, I guess this is just what 33w feels like, but d@mn, I am in A LOT of pain. 7 more weeks, 7 more weeks, 7 more weeks.

QOTD: Not really. My SIL is due next week and depending on when the baby is born DH and DD might be headed to Chicago for the bris (if baby is a boy), so all our plans are on standby.

Update:  I am NOT leaking amniotic fluid and I am off bed rest.  Insert clapping.  I am still taking it easy.  When dh is home he takes care of Reid.  I also hit 24 weeks yesterday.  I had Reid at 24 weeks.  The cerclage is holding up well.  No problems.  I got my first steroid shot for baby's lungs today, second one tomorrow.

QOTD:  Not too sure yet.  Probably some cooking out.

  • Hi everyone!

I would love to be added to this group if you will have me! We are currently TTC#2.
