Or lack thereof. ![]()
Lately, napping has been more or less non-existent in our house. If they do sleep, it's after nearly an hour (more yesterday) of chattering in their room, me going in there and replacing Elmo and Minnie Mouse to their respective cribs, and reminding them it's naptime.
I know they're tired. Today for example, we went to lunch with a girlfriend and they started to be very crabby and meltdown. Hannah fell asleep RIGHT before we pulled into our drive way, but is now wide awake in bed playing with Minnie.
Any advice? PLEASE tell me that they're not trying to drop naps altogether!! I don't think I can handle that!
Re: twins are 22 mos. a napping question
yeah...some days are like that in my house too.
I find that if the girls fall asleep on the way home for naptime they will inevitably wake up when we get home and won't sleep again...so I do everything in my power to keep them awake until we get home and be there for naptime.
I also don't make eye contact or talk to them when I go in to replace thrown animals...I pick them up, put them in their respective cribs, and get the he!! out...seems to help....altho some days they take an hour to fall asleep...Idon't plan to give up naptime til at least 3...and even then 1-3 will still be "quiet time"...GL!
Thanks! It's just such a bummer because up until about 2 weeks ago, they were FANTASTIC nappers. Put them down, a few minutes of chatter, and then silence for about 2 hours.
Today I went in there and just stood. After about 10 minutes both were asleep. UGH! M laid there and stared at me until I looked over and he had his head on his teddy bear and was snoring. H was a tougher case. She fought and fought, eyes fluttering.
Have you moved their nap time at all?
At around 2.5 I had to start sitting in their room at naptime until they fell asleep. They realized they could chatter and that was infinitely more fun than sleeping.
For me, unless their naptime sleep is drastically affecting their nighttime sleep, they still need their nap.
