I am about ready to tear my hair out... not sure what the issue is... it isn't absorbency as such, since they either leak as soon as DS pees, or they don't. We make sure the side tabs are tucks, that the insert is all the way up the back, that the back is well folded, that they are tight on the waist, etc.
I have just unsnapped them all the way to see if that stops it (we were using them on the second rise) - J is about 17-17.5 lbs. He has chunky legs, and a belly, but a small waist. At the largest rise they are still bellow his belly button.
Help me out please! Anything I haven't thought of? We have both snaps and velcro, same issue with them both. They are leaking at the back waist...
TIA!!!
Re: Leaky Pockets Help - (BG 4.0 mostly)
Washing in RnG... and yes while he is laying down...

Is there anyway to tell if it is repelling? I doubt that it is... since RnG is also used to strip by some people... and they have been leaking randomly since they were brand new (washed once before using) - it really seems like a user/ fit issue.
It is like they are not fitting right somewhere, and they leak before the urine is absorbed into the insert, not so much that the urine isn't being absorbed at all... since when I take them off it is hard to determine where the leak happened...
Since it's only happening when he's lying down, it could be that because he's a boy, the pee is working it's way around his waist before it has a chance to even absorb into the diaper. One way to help that is to 'point him down' to give the pee the opportunity to absorb.
You can't really test for repelling without the pressure of baby's bottom, so if you are rotating your stash evenly and it's not happening during the daytime, it's likely some type of fit issue associated with lying down rather than detergent buildup.
If you try the pointing down thing and it doesn't work, please give us a call at 1-888-332-2243 and we'd be glad to help you with some more detailed troubleshooting.
