I'll have twin toddlers + a newborn. I'm not sure I want the Valco. I keep hearing how bulky it is. My plan is to wear the baby in a carrier as much as I can and then reevaluate what our needs are down the road. Baby's due in Dec. I figure I can comfortable wear him/her for 6 months until the Atlanta heat arrives. The girls will be 2-1/2. I'm hoping I can get the toddler board for the City Mini and be done with the ever present stroller issue
Do you have a carrier? The Ergo is great for a toddler. I LOVED the Baby K'tan and the Babyhawk too.
I did not go the Valco route, mainly b/c I wanted to save the $$$ and get a BOB duallie (as I can not wait to get back to running when the twins are old enough to sit in it - ~ 4 mos I think??).
So, I opted for the Joovy stand on triple caboose which I will admit is HUGE!!!! (61 in when folded down so I had to make sure it fits in the back of my car which it does - I have a 2011 Honda Pilot). My DS #1 loves to pretend sit in the little seat when we are in the garage getting in/out of car (we will have to wait and see how it goes when twins are here b/c when both carseats are in it the back seat has to be reclined and DS can not sit fully upright) and it fits my Peg Perego car seats snugly which was a concern b/c I did not feel like the DSNG did.
Also DS#1 will be in daycare FT initially then 3 days/week so me going out with all 3 will be few & far between.

Nope. DS1 was 27m when our twins were born and rarely used a stroller anyway. He would rarely sit in our Kolcraft and I'd wear a baby, but that's rare. He's always just walked.
I kept trying to get a Valco used but was never lucky enough to find one. I made myself feel better about it by convincing myself it would be too bulky for me
I have a Joovy Big Caboose and while it's not perfect it's my go to stroller of choice these days. My son mostly walks but when we need to get somewhere quickly or somewhere far he hitches a ride on the stroller. I like that there is a decent amount of space between the two seats. I love the stroller when we visit a local amusement park. It allowes me to let my son walk when he needs to but also have a spot for him if he is tired or it is too crowded. I also prefer the Joovy to my side by side when I am going shopping because it's easier to fit down narrow aisles. The cons are that it's long and not the easiest to steer. It does take up the entire width of my van when folded. I am happy with it for the price I paid. I got it on sale with free shipping from diapers.com.
I have also used my side by side (Maclaren) with a baby and my son in the stroller while wearing the other baby. It worked for me while my girls were smaller but now they are too wiggly.
I have another friend that has twins and a toddler and she swears by the buggy board that you attach to the back of strollers for her toddler. She was able to get it to attach to her double snap and go. You can check stroller compatibility here... https://www.lascal.se/web/bbm2_check_compatibility.aspx
Im 32 weeks with twins and my son is 33 months... I simply purchased a double stroller from Graco. My son is old enough now that he rarely ever wants to sit in a stroller anyway, and like other have said, if you are going somewhere where the toddler will need the stroller (like the Zoo), you can either take another single stroller, or if you are crazy enough to go alone then put one baby in a carrier. I ended up using coupons and returning a few things I didnt need from my baby shower and bought it during a sale and got it $46 Im stoked to use it!

yes. it was worth every penny, but I am home alone with the 3 every day.
I used a 30% diapers.com coupon for mine, and that brought the cost close to what used ones were going for near me, but I was never quick enough.
