What is the soonest you can see any sac? My LMP was May 15 I ovulated May 29-30th. Got a positive june 12 from both HPT and blood work. I went in to the Urgent care yesterdy to insure it wasnt an etopic pregnancy. They did an ultrasound and told me there was nothing in the uterus, that it didnt lool like I was pregnant at all but my levels were at 995. I am trying to get back in today to see if they went up a little because there is no way I can wait till tomorrow and find out I had a miscarriage on my birthday. I just feel like the UC doctor didnt know what was going on since he did a pelvic first and said everything seemed good I was just early on. I did tell them I was 5 weeks because well according to my LMP I was but I doubt Im that far. He just kept telling me I had a MC. I cant get in to my Ob anytime soon and am really freaking out. Also I have had no sever cramping and no bleeding.

Your levels have to be 1500 or above to see anything, but at 5 weeks, you should see a sac.    I hope you get some answers soon.  I'm so sorry you're going through this.  Hang in there.

I really dont think Im 5 weeks. I ovulate right on day 16 every month so if thats the case it would be barely 4 weeks. Im trying to keep positive but its so hard. Im really freaking out.

Would the ER be a better place to go?

I live on a military base and our ER is the UCC thats where I was yesterday.

Did he do a standard ultrasound (on your abdomen) or a transvaginal ultrasound (inside of you)? At that early, it's unlikely that they'd see anything with a standard ultrasound.

They did both. I hear from some its too early for both.

If you ovulated around May 29 then that would make you around 5w2d (as I ovulated on June 3rd and I am currently 4w5d).  However, regardless of where you are I think you should try to get checked again.  I had a m/c last summer and originally they could not find a sac around 6w but found the sac and heartbeat a week later (unfortunatley the LO did not make it past 9wks). My Dr said that the baby is so small at 5-6 weeks it can simply be hiding.

If you're barely 4 weeks, then the beta seems more on track, and they wouldn't be able to see anything.  If you O'd on the 31st, then you should be 5 weeks today and the next time you go in they should at least see a sac.  Good luck!

I ovulated on May 29 and just had my u/s yesterday.  My levels were above 1500 and we clearly saw a gestational sac and yolk sac (no baby, it's a little early).  That's just my experience, that doesn't mean that's the final answer.  I wish you much luck and hope everything turns out ok!

I agree with PPs. My doc said that she won't do and ultrasound until I am over 1800 because you may not be able to see anything. I would try to go in to your regular doctor, but if it is this early they may not perform one. Good Luck!

Aright Ladies my OB nurse called me back. She said that it was early and he woulnt have seen anything most likely. I am going in for labs today to see if there was even a little change then again tomorrow to check again. She gave me hope and agreed the ER doc was retarded and should not have said I ha a miscarriage without checking my levels again and only basing it off a way early U/S

I had a very similar situation 10 days ago. Originally I was told my due date was 2/2/12. We went in for an ultrasound to be sure the baby wasn't near a fibroid, and they found a sac but no baby. They tested my blood every other day for a few days to see if levels kept rising. It was horrible, as they led me to believe it was likely a m/c. Worst week of my life. Thursday we had a follow up ultrasound, and there was a heartbeat! They changed my due date to 2/13/12. Waiting is miserable, but things really change a lot in just one week. We have another follow up to be sure things are still developing tomorrow. Best of luck to you, hang in there!
