I was able to score some really nice Fisher Price toys - 6 pieces for $47, used from another website I belong to. I "know" this girl from posting on the board since 2004.
I cleaned them with a clorox wipe and then with Babyganics cleaner. Now I am getting nervous about the clorox and I want to douse these toys in soap and water.
Is this okay? If you receive used toys what would you clean them with?
BTW on another note, DH is getting second job just to pay for batteries - jeeez! My babies are only 6 months old! The things they don't tell you when you're pregnant haha!
Re: Used toys
3 of the toys are huge, won't fit in a dishwasher. But all 6 toys require batteries AND I don't have a dishwasher regardless!
Gotcha! If you're nervous about the Clorox wipes fill the tub up and soak them in soap water. I'm sure they are fine though. Good luck!
restaurants use pure bleach on cutting boards and wash sinks. it dissipates fully.
Dont worry!
However, another trick is to put them in the freezer for a day or so!
i agree with you that you should probably do something to get the clorox rinsed off, i wouldn't want my baby putting clorox in his mouth (and my baby puts EVERYTHING in his mouth!).
honestly, i'm not that conscientious about used toys. he plays so much with shared toys at playrooms, which have been in 20 kids' mouths, that it seems sort of pointless to worry about. i figure this is what immune systems are for.
a second job to pay for batteries? that's incredible.
would it be cheaper maybe to use rechargeables?
