Success after IF

Conceiving #2 with IF, please come in!

Disclaimer: If this is a FAQ, I'm sorry. I tried to search the board but it's either not working right or I'm not finding anything.

Quick version: I have PCOS & endo. After two years TTC, our magic potion was 100mg Clomid + Estrodiol + HcG Trigger + IUI. I know that pregnancy can change your body in many ways and possibly even get it functioning correctly, so no BC for us...just because if it can happen naturally, heck yeah! We'll take what we can get.

BUT, my question is if we do eventually need to seek help from an RE again, will they want to do all of the preliminary testing again due to changes from pregnancy? If you have been through this, what's your experience? TIA!

  • We went back to start the TTC #2 process and all they required were updated bloodwork and an SIS to make sure there was no scarring in my uterus from the pregnancy.

  • It differs from RE to RE.  I am in the process of TTC #2 and I had to have updated Day 3 bloodwork (not a big deal at all) and a saline SHG to ensure I didn't have any scarring from my C/S.  DH and I also had to have updated bloodwork for STDs.  That was it for us.

I'm sure the policy may vary by clinic, but that's a comfort to hear. I can't fathom dealing with them wiping the slate clean and making us start over from square one.

    P.S. Congrats on your boys!

Awesome. Thanks so much, and best of luck to you!

  • For me, they required just bloodwork.  My SGH and HSG were within 2 years, so they were ok with those.  Good luck!

  • We had to re-do everything...STD bloodwork for both DH and I, CD3 panel, SA for DH, and an HSG for me.

  • I had to do bloodwork, mock transfer, and HSG but they were done on the same day.  Good luck :)
