NBR: Cabo San Lucas Recommendations

Hey All!

My DH and I get to go on vacation pretty soon.  We can't wait!  We haven't been on a vacation, without the boys, in forever.  So anyway, we are headed to Cabo San Lucas and need all the suggestions that you have...where to eat?  what to do?  what not to do? what to see? tips?

We plan to lay by the pool and just read for most of our time there...but otherwise, what should we do!

TIA

  • These two are not specific to cabo,  but there are lots of places in mexico to do both.

What to do:  Swim with dolphins!   If you havent done it before, its SO much fun!

What not to do:  Parasailing... its surprisingly boring... =/

I know I've said it before, but I am SUPER jealous of your trip!!

  • We went for our honeymoon.  We were kind of in the off season, so we weren't able to do some of the stuff we would have liked.

We did a "dinner cruise" which was mostly just unlimited booze and a small buffet (obviously more for the drinks than the food).  We aren't big drinkers, so this was disappointing to us.  Plus we got sea sick.  Ick!

We did charter a small fishing boat, just us and a guide and that was AWESOME!  We took some dramamine before so that probably helped us not get sea sick.  We caught tons of fish:  Tuna, mahi mahi, and James even snagged a baby marlin.

If we went back, I would make sure that we were there at the time when you could do the releasing the baby turtles thing.  That would have been awesome.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
  • You can zip line there. We did it in Puerto Vallarta and it is pretty fun.

Also there is a beach at Land's end I think it is called Lover's beach?  You can take a boat out there. I wish we would have done it. It looked like a nice beach pretty small.

We did similar activities.  We went on a sunset cruise - I believe it was just drinks, no dinner - which was nice (besides the fact that we both got seasick).  The view of the arch and the sunset was awesome.

We also went on a private chartered fishing boat but HATED it!! We took dramamine, so didn't get sick (but did fall asleep because it started at 6 am and the meds kicked in ..)  We didn't catch anything for HOURS .. finally after over 8 hours on the boat we finally caught 1 fish ... we wasted the entire day on the boat, so that was kind of disappointing.

Other than that - we didn't do much 'night life' but did check out a couple places.  Cabo Wabo was fun.  We went to the Giggling Marlin for dinner/drinks which was pretty cool too and they are supposed to have a fun night life there also (which we didn't do cuz we're lame).

I will see what else I can remember .. we haven't been in years so I can't remember a ton :) Have fun!
