Yesterday afternoon/evening and this morning Ellie has been a total fussy pants.
She screams when we take something away from her (and mostly we are taking away our own water bottle/glass, etc) or when she doesn't have something in her mouth. And then, its hard to console her. The only thing that works is me holding her. Not John, just me. She screamed most of the car ride to daycare (normally she is super happy in the car). She seemed OK when I left her, so hopefully she does OK at school today.
She is biting her lips and making a humming sound a ton. drooling (but not more than usual)
how do i know if she is in pain? (and I saw the other post about motrin over tylenol, but motrin is only for 6+ months, right?) I don't want to give her meds if she doesn't need them....
She slept fine last night (12 hours)
Re: Is this teething? Exhaustion? Something else?
Sounds like the beginning of "Wonder Week 26". From what I've read, it usually starts around 22-23 weeks and lasts until 26-27 weeks. We are just coming out the other side along with cutting top teeth...it's been real fun around here! If you google, wonder weeks you'll find tons of info. I actually have the app on my phone. Basically, they are different stages of mental development that every baby goes through.
As far as teething, check out her gums. J's got really puffy and kinda red when he was about to cut teeth. I could also see little lumps and on his bottoms, I could see little white spots before they popped through. But, I do have to say his bottoms really didn't phase him. These top ones are a whole other story!
ETA: I checked the Motrin label again and it does say 6 months+, but 12-17 lbs. is the first dose. I bet you could call the pedi to double check.
