Yes you should be able to see the heartbeat if you are truly at 6 weeks+, however if you're off on your EDD it may not be possible, but they will let you know where you're measuring when they do the ultrasound! Hope everything goes perfectly for you!

We saw and heard our LO's heartbeat at 6w2d. Good luck!
TTC since 1/09. 4 rounds clomid, 1 miscarriage, 2 rounds IVF, and 1 successful frozen embryo transfer with a donor embryo! Pregnant with our miracle baby, due February 6, 2012!
It's possible, BUT don't be discouraged if you don't. Sometimes how far along you are can be off by a few days. I had my first sono at what I thought was 6 weeks and there was nothing but a black dot where the sac was...no fetal pole or yolk sac. The doc tested my HCG levels and all was good so I was sent home and came back a couple weeks later at what I thought was 7w 4d, and there was the heartbeat! But, the baby was measuring 6w 5d (can happen if you have longer than 28 day cycles or if you just ovulated late). So, long story short, just don't be discouraged if you don't. All can still be well and good.

I've never had one that early, but my Dr. prefers to wait until 8 weeks. He said that it's not uncommon not to get a HB that early, so rather than freak me out, we waited. I go tomorrow. I think my earliest u/s was 7.9 weeks. I think it's also a matter of making sure your edd is calculated correctly as well.
I would say yes, if that is truely what you are, but of you are off by a couple days it may not show up, so i wiould not be too concerned if you do not hear it either.

We had 2 years of IF trying to conceive #2 and one loss during that time. We are currently trying for #3! had another loss the end of June
It is totally possible (As long as you actually are at least 6w3d)! We saw and heard the heartbeat when I was 6w5d! It was 130bpm and it was the most beautiful sound in all the land! We were able to hear it again at out net appointment, when I was about 10w5d - 160bpm!
Just to add another personal experience, I saw the HB at 6wks/0days, although Dr is not sure if the measurement was perfectly exact. He guessed about 6wks/1-4days.

Thank you all so much!!! I'm really hoping we see it, but it's good to know that if we don't, it's not bad. I'm so excited though!! Can't wait til Friday!!!

Yes, you should see the heartbeat.
I was only 6 weeks, tech said that was a very good sign.

I had my first US at 6 weeks 2 days and we were able to see the Heart beat, but my dr. had prepped me that we may not for another week or so!
Best wishes!
