1st Trimester

Sharp stabbing pain in lower right side?

I remember RL pain with the first but not until my 2nd trimester.  This feels similar to this but I'm not sure it is suppose to happen at 7 weeks?  It's when I move, get up or twist.  I am not bleeding but it hurts pretty bad.  Then I have a dull aching feeling.  It's only in my lower, right side.

Any idea what this is?  Should I call the Dr?  I have my first appt. next week.  TIA

  • I've been getting this too. I've heard that the RLP starts much earlier with 2+ so I've just been thinking that was all it was.

  • I've been having RLP for a few weeks now. I'm 9 weeks pg with #3. I remember it came earlier with #2 as well.

  • I have the same thing.  My nurse told me its just your uterus stretching and since I am so in tune with my body and looking for every different feeling since this is my first child, this is why I feel the pain so much.  No need to worry unless I was bleeding she said.

  • Thanks ladies.  I rested alot today (actually watched a movie and napped while DH took our DD out --holla!!)  But I only get it when I move, not while resting, which has helped make me feel better about it.

  • How far over on the right side?  It isn't at all uncommon to get a pretty big cyst on the ovary that you ovulated from.  I had one with DS that was really big.  It was sore until about 18 weeks or so.  It sucked but they are harmless.

  • So glad you asked this question - I have been having this pain as well but had completely forgot about RL pain...ugh hope this doesn't last the next 9 months!

  • Frankly ladies I'm disappointed. Not only in this forum but others as well.

People come here to get answers and thankfully you provide answers--sometimes upwards of ten sentences to a question. But you insist on abbreviating within your lengthy paragraphs?

    RL? RLP? DH? DD?

What do these mean? Why can't you spell out what you're actually saying so people know what you're talking about--thus learning from the forum they've provided us.

Start thinking like a first time mom and please answer accordingly.
