I received my second Beta levels today. On Monday Beta #1- 12 Thursday Beta#2 -44. I know my hcg is rising and that is a good sign. My progesterone however came back at 8.3. Does anyone know what normal is? It seems to me that 10 is the lowest it should be. Does this indicate miscarriage? Any advice would be greatly appreciated because the doctor will not be calling me about it until Monday according to the nurse!
Re: Progesterone Levels??
I've had two m/c, neither of them they did blood work for. When I got the BFP this time, my doctor sent me right away for blood work, twice in one week. She said that my HCg was going up, but my progesterone was between 7 & 14, so she gave me Prometrium, 200mg/day. I was 4 weeks.
During the 5th week I was sent for more blood work, Tues & Thurs and my progesterone levels went up from the meds.
Seems like the Prometrium is working, I went for u/s last Friday and measured 6w/3d. With the last m/c I went for a u/s at 8w and the baby only measured 5wk/3d, so I'm taking it as a positive that everything looked good last week.
I wouldn't say that low levels automatically mean you're going to have a m/c (and I hope you don't), but I would ask your doctor about getting a Rx for some kind of Progesterone raising meds. From what I read online, progesterone is what sustains the pregnancy before teh placenta is formed to make the progesterone.
I hope it works out!

I had a m/c with my first pregnancy.
With my son, I had my progesterone level tested around 5 weeks and it was a 6.6. REALLY low. I thought for sure I'd miscarry again. But I was put on supplements and they must have helped because I have a healthy baby boy! Are they going to put you on the supplements?
I have an appointment Monday to get my progesterone level tested for this pregnancy, too. Better safe than sorry! Good luck!
