Re: clicky poll! name preference

  • how is Onika pronounced ?

    eta: spelling

  • If you are pro-nouncing Onika like Ah-ni-ka, then I would have chosen that.  I chose Olympia because there is no question about how to spell it or say it, yet I actually like it a lot!  GL deciding.

  • I can't find the first name on behindthename.com which is a very accurate etymology site. I do like Anika a lot but not the way you spelled it. I vote Olympia.

I also like Ophelia, Anouk, Eulalie, if you're looking for unique names.

Yup.  Sorry.  These names aren't unique, they are just awful.... that being said, it's your baby, and if you love a name that is all that matters!

I love Ophelia! But she hasn't a very strong soul in Hamlet. :(

  • Both of those names are so harsh and masculine sounding.  Your child is screwed either way.
Not even trying to be mean, but with both of those names I picture a 6' tall, hairy woman with a javelin in her hand.  And maybe a slight bulge where a penis may or may not be.
