Pregnant after 35

If anybody asks

No, I am not eating Wheat Thins dunked into a big old jar of Natural Jif Peanut Butter at my desk right now.  Followed by a handful of Cashews, Almonds & Macadamia mixed nuts.  While eye-ing an apple.

Especially after eating a BLT with Cool Ranch Doritos and a banana three hours ago.

Does this constant hunger ever go away?!?!

Re: If anybody asks

  • Apples and peanut butter are a really yummy combo.  Just sayin'.

Eating about every 3 hours is actually a pretty good habit, it should help keep your energy up.  Well, it should as long as you're eating good stuff, anyway.  :)

  • Hey...at least it is healthy!

I cannot stop heating up cookie dough in the microwave so it is a melted piece of heaven.  I have been good about limiting it to 1 or 2 little slices a day, but still.

  • I have an insatiable hunger right now. My goal to not gain during the 1T is in a lot of danger.

  • For me I found that during the first 20 weeks I ate a lot and was often hungry in the first trimester.  Eating helped me keep the nausea at bay.  I have to say however, that in the past 6-8 weeks my appetite has returned to a more normal level.  Of course now I don't have room for food as baby takes up so much space so I have to eat smaller, more frequent meals.  And, in total I have gained about 37 lbs. which is slightly more than was recommended but not as much as many others I have talked to and the doctors and midwives have not been concerned at all.

  • Yes, after you die. Kids just keep you so busy that you feel like you are starving.Between nursing and chasing after them you feel like you can eat a horse.

  • I got up after the first sentence of your post for my second slice of pepperoni pizza....cool ranch doritos were the appetizer.

I've had to eat every hour or so during my entire pregnancy to keep the throwing up at bay - if I actually get hungry, the next thing I eat comes back up again (sorry - gross).  I've kept my weight gain normal (33 pounds at 37 weeks) but I can't wait to go back to real meals at normal intervals during the day!

  • I am so jealous.  I have GD and would kill for a slice of carrot cake right now.  Early on in the pregnancy all I wanted was carrot sticks and now that I can't have carbs all I want is cake and bread.

  • Consider yourself lucky! During 1st tri I could hardly eat. I would try to eat to keep nausea at bay, but it didn't work very often Sad Now I will get pretty hungry, but can hardly eat...ugh!!! I try to do the several small meals throughout the day and wish I would have some cravings, but nothing...I'll find out next week if I have gained any weight yet (I lost quite a bit in 1st tri and have been gaining back some)
