dr appointments, how far along

My friend who just gave birth to her second 2 weeks ago said to me the dr. wouldn't want to see me until 8 weeks but I'm seeing lots of ladies going in earlier than that.  I was planning on calling tomorrow to set up my first appointment.  

 

When was everyones first appointment?

I have my first appt on Friday- I will be exactly 5 weeks. I think its blood work and all that stuff... not sure when they do the u/s but I think its around 8-10 weeks?

My first appointment is June 24th. The only reason I've had an ultrasound done that is due to severe cramping at times. Otherwise I would be ultrasound free till 12 weeks.

Definitely DO call tmw to get your appt set up -- a lot of doctors book their OB appointments pretty far in advance!! My GP recommended I schedule the entire pregnancy's worth up front, e.g..

 FWIW, I called on Monday the 6th and have my first "real" prenatal on Tuesday the 28th. (I'll be 7w5d.) I did have an appt to talk with a nurse for all the medical history info, receive a copy of WTEWYE, and discuss normal symptoms, etc already, though.

I scheduled my 1st visit yesterday.

I'll be 7 weeks 2 days.  I'm meeting with the doctor, doing family medical history, insurance meeting, and going over the general "rules" of being pregnant.

Nurse said the doctor would do an u/s if she deemed it necessary.

My OBs office does what they call "confirmation" appointments where they do a pregnancy test, internval, and short discussion about dos/donts and then Q&A.  They first full appointment isn't until 8-10 weeks.  You can choose to skip the confirmation appt and just do the inital or do both.  I chose to do both.  My first appointment is tomorrow (6/15).  I will be 6 weeks.

I will be about 8 weeks for my first appt (which doesn't even include an exam). I will be close to 9 weeks for the exam. Maybe it's because this is my second child, but I think I prefer it this way.

My first apt. with my MW is 12 weeks...She says she could see me sooner, but there is nothing much she will be able to accomplish because she won't be able to hear the heartbeat yet.  

With my previous pregnancy I saw the hospital based MW practice (that I was with until I switched to a HB at 25 weeks) around 8 weeks.  The whole apt. consisted of family histories and lots and lots of bloodwork.  It was not exciting.

I had an appt today, she checked me because I had been cramping, but other than that just some blood work and I will go for blood work next week to check my hcg levels. 

My first pre-natal appt is not until 7/21 and that will be 9 weeks, and they will do another appt at 12 weeks where they will listen for the hb

I saw the prenatal nurse today for paperwork, urinalysis, and blood work.  I see the MD on June 29 for the physical exam, pap, and ultrasound just to confirm due date.  I'll be nearly 9 weeks by then.

I'm going in today (at 6 weeks) for blood work, urine test, and to talk about whether or not I'll be high risk since I have a connective tissue disease and had very bad hyperemesis with my first. I'll go back in two weeks for the Pap smear and sonogram. When I was pregnant the first time, my first appointment at eight weeks.
