Help please!
My babies are switching between breast and bottle on alternate days. It's been about 3 weeks and my son is doing awesome. My daughter, normally the "easy" one doesn't seem to be tolerating the formula as well. I am using target brand version of Gentilease. She is gassy, farty, hardish green stool. Doesn't settle and act comfy after a bottle feeding. Anyone experience this? She's fussy now and I'm wondering if it's a milk allergy?
Re: Switching between breastmilk and formula
Is she only having problems with the formula bottles or with the bm bottles as well? If it is a milk allergy she should be showing symptoms on both bm and formula. I know that with breast fed babies green poop can mean a hind milk/foremilk imbalance. Basically the early milk has most of the hydration but the late milk has most of the fat. If the baby doesn't get enough of the late milk (hind milk) they can have green poop. If this is the problem you can pump off some of the foremilk and then give the baby the boob.
My babies were pretty much always farty for the first few months of life and there was nothing wrong with them. Babies have lots of gas. Try bicycling their legs to help them work the gas out. Hope it turns out to be nothing serious.
this. My kids had a hard time with formula transition. The only thing that didn't upset their tummies was Good Start. HTH!
