Yardsales

Hello,

 I posted a couple of weeks ago for recommendations on a new obgyn as my DH and I were moving to the Zionsville area.  We are now all moved and settled and are starting to purchase items for the LO due in October.  I have heard that yardsales are great places to find gently used baby clothes since they grow so quickly.  We are interested in the northside (Zionsville, Carmel, etc).  Any advice on where to look for ads for these sales, or is there a newspaper we should look into for this area?

 Thans ladies, you were so helpful with the doctor recommendations I am sure I will be bugging you for ideas as things come up in the future!

We found some great yard sales last weekend in Zville by driving around and following poster board signs.  Seriously.  If there is a neighborhood yard sale (where all the homes participate), there are usually signs around 334 and Ford Rd.  Also, look for signs at the intersection of Ford Rd. and Whitestown.  There were two yard sales in Cobblestone Lakes last weekend with lots of little girl toys and books. You may also want to check the Times-Sentinel for yard sale listings.  (It's the local paper - it comes out on Thurs.)

Check craigslist - most people put a specific location/suburb so you can sort through them. I think you can find great clothes at yard sales!

There's a sale coming up in September called whale of a sale.  It's a consignment sale so prices are a little higher (maybe $3-5 for nice gymboree or baby gap outfits).

Oh my God thank you so much for this link.  This is already written into my calendar for September.  I can hardly wait!

You are welcome!  You'll be eligible to do the new mom night--it said registration is in August.  It's for pregnant moms and those with kids under 1. 

 Besides saving money, the best thing about getting things used is not having to put it together!  The equipment tends to go fast (jumperoos, pack and plays, etc).
