I also have Mirena and am very happy with it. The initial bleeding was a little difficult to get through - but I'm so glad I have it now. No periods, no pills, no side effects and most importantly no more babies (at least for right now!)!
I would love to use Mirena, but I don't think I am a good candidate for it because I have a Unicornuate uterus (1/2 uterus). I don't think it would fit properly.
I used Errin Birth control while I was breast feeding and it seemed to work great, I switched to the Merena IUD and Ive had it for close to 4 years, we just decided to have it removed so we can TTC #2. After being in there for 20 minutes with forceps and hands, they couldnt find it to remove it. I now have another Apt on the 20th, and I can only HOPE they can find it with the scope/camera. If not its surgery.
But with all that being said, I loved my Merena, I never had to worry, but im not sure if I want to get it again after baby #2 is born.
Ask your OBGYN about your condition, I'm sure they can tell you if it will work for you.

I have Implanon. The prevention rate is still 99.9% and it's inserted into your upper arm. I compare it to an IUD because it lasts for 3 years and can be removed at any time. It was super easy to insert and from what I hear, pretty easy to remove also.
