So, I usually run a small run/bike path around our neighborhood but tonight I didn't think I'd do the full 4 miles so I went just on the path around our condo complex. As I walked out of the building I heard a crash, thought it was a little odd and took off anyway. A quarter of a mile(ish) later and I get passed my several squad cars, fire trucks and ambulances. I then literally, ran into the scene. Two cars were wrapped around a tree between the sidewalk and the street. I over heard the police saying that it was a domestic call, the dad took off with the kids and mom took chase. They crashed and now there's a two year old boy missing. I got teary and felt a break down coming on so I turned around and went home. I feel like someone was watching out for me, I was going to go out the door a few minutes earlier but stopped to let my phone charge a tad because it was almost dead. I'm glad I did. I have pictures but they're pretty ugly and don't think they need posted. This is one of those times were my choice to get into law enforcement makes me take a step back.
Re: Run cut short by a car crash
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I'm gonna be the one that says WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely! Good job, God in protecting her and the baby! =D
Hope everyone else's experience with the car crash will be resolved beautifully. Hope little boy is found!!
wow. i am glad you are okay, and i know that feeling.
one of the things that freaks me out about becoming a parent, is that i know, and have seen, so many of the things that can go wrong.
i hope they find the 2yo boy is okay, and that everyone walks/walked away with minimal injuries!

I agree, one of the biggest things that terrifies me is the stuff I see at work. I want to put our LO in a bubble!
I heard them say that they took both drivers(I'm assuming the parents) to the hospital. There are cops one every corner and in every lot of our complex looking for the little boy. They think he got scared after the accident and got out of the car and hid somewhere. It's starting to get dark so I hope he turns up soon. On the plus(sort of) side, we live right on the dividing street between two suburbs so there are two police departments working out there.
