Reassure me, please.

I know it's been asked eleventiy billion times, but a little bit of brown spotting is okay, right?  I'm talking not even enough to need a panty liner.  Just a tiny amount when I wipe.  I'll probably call the doc on Monday, but can you guys reassure me in the meantime?  I'm trying really really hard to stay away from the Google.

Re: Reassure me, please.

  • Yes!  You're fine :)

My mom says that she didn't even know she was pregnant with me until 4 months because she was spotting so much, she thought she was having a period.

And brown spotting is better than bright red.  But even then, my friend was just telling me she was having bright red spotting and passing clots.  I felt horrible for her, I was sure there must be something wrong.  Of course, I didn't say that to her.  But she went to the doc and everything is fine!  That was over a month ago.

  • Totally fine! Brown means old. Hang in there...I know the stress of spotting SUCKS, but I have no doubt that everything is just fine. Take it easy today.
    Dear Bump: You suck.

I agree with everyone else....brown blood is old blood.  If it will make you feel better, call you doc to get another beta level drawn.  That way you'll feel more confident that the number is increasing appropriately.

  • Yep, sounds like your fine.  I had a lot of spotting with #2.  It was even bright red, up to about 12 weeks.
  • You are right, its nothing!  Call tomorrow morning if ya want to hear it from a pro, but a tiny amt of brown is nothing to worry about.  Hang in there!
  • Totally cool.  I had more than just a tiny amount of spotting (TMI-red and brown) with both DD and this pregnancy.  Well, you've met DD and this pregnancy is still going strong.  I did go ahead and put in a call to my OB both times and both times she had me come in just to ease my anxiety.  I'm sure all is well with you, but it never hurts to call the doc, at least for peace of mind.  Sending good thoughts your way (even though I'm sure you're A-OK)!

  • Thanks guys. It stopped around 1 today so I'm feeling more relaxed now. I'll still prob call tomorrow, but I like what I'm hearing from my Nesties :)
  • I know I'm coming in late but I just wanted to add my experience.  I've been having spotting off and on.  Mostly it's brown or a little pink.  When I talked to my midwife about it she said that it's totally normal.  Some uterus's also just bleed easily which doesn't mean that there's any problem either.  She said that unless there's menstrual like flow with cramping in your lower abdomen or back, you should be fine.

  • Glad that you're going in just to ease your mind, but wanted to add that I also had brown spotting with K1. Perfectly normal, but still worrisome.

Still so excited for you guys!
