So a really close friend of mine (though she lives back in NY) has a one year old little boy and wanted to CD from the beginning but was convinced away from it by her fiance over the upfront cost and the fact that they were/are very tight on funds.  On one of her recent pics it looked like she might have started CD'ing, but it ended up just being a patterned disposable, but when I asked her about it she said "I wish it was a CD!"

So, the question:  Would you start her off with a little stash as a gift so she could get over the initial hurdle or could that come off as too presumptuous and/or pushy?

If you are willing/able to give her CDs, I would go for it!  If you are worried about seeming to presumptuous, just ask her if she'd like to borrow some to try out instead of just gifting them to her.  Then if she likes them, you can just offer to let her use them indefinitely

If you send some to her, just attach a little note saying you remembered that she really wanted a chance to try CDing...that way, it's a gift, plus it shows that you've really been listening and paying attention to your discussions.

I like this idea, too.  But from your post it sounds like she's pretty interested in trying CDs, so unless she's the sort to be easily offended if she thinks someone's making assumptions about her, you're probably fine to go ahead and give her some.  Also, you're an awesome friend.

Thanks ladies!  I think I'm going to get a few together for her to try... I'll post a follow up post about what types to get.  She and her F are both 6' and her little boy isn't all that little lol.  I know Yoda has a big boy, and His(1&only) I think too...
