first u/s today- need some reassurance!

I just had my first u/s today. Based on my LMP i should be 7w2d.  Based on the ultrasound I was 5w5d.  The u/s tech said there was no measurable embryo so she didn't give us a picture. She showed us a small 1/2 in "blob" that she said was the embryo but that I wasn't far enough along to get a heartbeat. 

I knew I wouldnt be 7w2d because i have 30-32 day cycles. I knew I didn't ovulate until May 13, but I'm still nervous because the u/s tech did not say anything that was optimistic! They moved my due date to Feb 5 instead of Jan 25. After the u/s the tech had us wait while she called in a stat reading from the doctor on call from my OB group. They said to just continue with our regularly scheduled appointment (not until July 8!) and to call the office on monday.

Also, I got my first BFP on May 22, so did I just get an early positive? The lines on the test were faint.  

 

Has anybody been here before?? I had my first OB appointment on June 8, so I didn't get my blood results back from that and of course they are closed until Monday now so I can't call the doctor.

If you think you didn't ovulate till the 13th then it sound like you are right on track. I would call them back and see if you can get an earlier ultrasound to make sure of the due date. I'm sorry you have to go through this stress.

I think I would ask for an earlier U/S also. I just had one today. I'm measuring 5 weeks 6 days although if you go by LMP I would be 7 weeks. They saw the baby but the heart rate was slow. I have an appointment for another U/S in 1 week. She did comment that it's difficult to even see the heartrate before 6 weeks. I don't think there is much to see in the 5-6 week timeframe. I was frustrated too that my tech seemed to be somewhat of a Debbie Downer. Try to stay positive!! I know it is difficult. Really 5 weeks and 5 days is still so early before most people have U/S.
