Problem with our first fitted

I put DS in his first fitted tonight (not his TT because it had just arrived), it's a Sbish fitted with snaps. Seems super absorbant and I liked it, the problem was getting a cover over it.  My Thirsties Duo Wrap seemed way too small, so after trying for a few minutes I grabbed a flip cover.  I was able to get that on by unsnapping to the maximum rise, but it still seemed awkward and not like a good fit. Is that normal?

Re: Problem with our first fitted

  • I ordered a bunch of sbish I'm still waiting on, but from my experience fitteds usually run on the larger side. Have you tried wool covers? They may work better because they have more stretch. I haven't tried any PUL covers yet so I can't say anything about them. My stash is mostly pockets right now with a few fitteds.

  • What size duo were you using? If it was the size 1, you may have to go to the size 2 snapped down. Your baby's growing :)

  • I don't have any SBish but I a lot of the time I use the full rise on flip covers with fitteds, especially our TT, that's a lot of diaper!  I've been able to get a full night out of a TT without a cover!

  • Yeah, have to unsnap my Weehuggers cover all the way to cover my TT. And DD fits comfortably into the middle rise on Blueberries. Fitteds add a lot of bulk.

  • Totally normal. I have to unsnap my flips all the way to get them to fit over fitteds.

I've found that my bummis size M fits the best over my fitteds (the whisper wraps and the lite wraps). I also love wool over them, but definitely need to get some more : )
