And again for two hours today, he didn't do what they wanted him to. I don't understand. I ate 30 minutes before we got there, had some sweet ice tea, he was bouncing and kicking while we were in the waiting room. They hook me up and nothing much. I know the nurse thought I was crazy. But he was really moving all over the place.
The good part about today was that my dd and SO's dd were able to see their little brother for the 1st time. My dd was so cute, she actually got upset with the nurse and said, "why are you zapping and poking him? My mom's been here 3x's already, this is just the way he is".
SO had to console her as she didn't like the poking and prodding and squeezing, yes they squeezed his head again. We have to go back on Tuesday, but I told SO, I will not be making this 30 minute trip 3x's a week. No matter what time of the day, or how long we're on the machine or u/s, this is just the way this baby is. The doctor said he's hoping that one of these days that LO will come out of his sleep. He's not sleeping! You see him moving on the monitor. Anyway, there talking about inducing me, so I won't update again unless that is the plan next week.
This baby better be this calm when he comes out. SO's dd said he's just meditating like daddy. My SO is a big calm person who's always meditating. We'll see.
Re: Update on LO not cooperating
It will be interesting to see if he's got the same personality after he's born!! (I kind of hope that's not the case - my LO moves 90% of the time, I'm cerain that if you looked at my bladder, there would be visable bruises on it!!)
Maybe a poll over at Parenting 35+ is in order...
My LO seems to stop moving whenever I or DH touch my belly. He'll be flipping and flopping and I will grab DH so he can finally feel it and as soon as he touches my belly, the baby lies still.
It's like he's having his own little party and then we touch the belly and he's like "What the hell was that?" And stays still hoping it will go away. LOL!
I hope your doctors stop freaking out soon and that everything is fine with your LO.
We go back tomorrow, hopefully he will behave. After seeing my daughter's reaction to the NST, we decided she's not ready to handle the birth even though she's 15 and wants to be there so bad, she was way to emotional over the exam we think the birth would be to much for her, to see me in any discomfort would be to traumatic for her.
